These terms set the rules for using this McHenry County Court Records website. By visiting any page, running a search, or reading content here, you agree to everything listed below. If you do not accept these conditions, leave the site and do not use it further.

It has no affiliation with McHenry County, the Twenty-Second Judicial Circuit, the McHenry County Circuit Clerk, the County Clerk and Recorder, the McHenry County Sheriff's Office, or the State of Illinois, and no affiliation with any other local, state, or federal government body. Neither this site nor any of our advertising partners offer services meant for credit checks, employment screening, insurance underwriting, tenant evaluation, or any other use covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). We exist to help visitors find public records resources in McHenry County, Illinois. We are not a private investigation firm, and we are not a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site. We operate on our own with no ties to any McHenry County office or Illinois state agency. We do not store official records and we cannot pull or file documents for anyone.

What we do is point you toward public records resources in McHenry County and connect you with third-party tools that may help with your research.

2. Rules for Using This Site

  • Break any federal, Illinois, or local law while using this site, including the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act (815 ILCS 505)
  • Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
  • Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
  • Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

3. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. We do not generate background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports of any kind. Neither we nor our advertising partners provide services built for screening job applicants, reviewing rental applications, calculating insurance rates, or judging creditworthiness. Illinois separately restricts the dissemination of criminal-history information under the Illinois Criminal Identification Act (20 ILCS 2630), and content from this site must not be used in any way that violates that statute. You agree not to use data from this site or any linked tool to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules or violates Illinois sealing, expungement, or non-disclosure protections under 20 ILCS 2630

4. Links to Outside Sites

We link to McHenry County court websites, the Twenty-Second Judicial Circuit, Illinois government portals, legal aid organizations, and outside search services across this site. Clicking one of those links moves you off our platform and onto one we have no control over. We are not responsible for their content, how they handle data, or whether their site stays online. Check their terms before using them.

5. No Warranties

Everything on this site is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Public records, including records held by Illinois public bodies subject to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140), change all the time. We try to keep up, but gaps are unavoidable. Nothing on this site should be treated as an official statement from a court or government agency.

We can limit or block your access to this site at any time, for any reason, with no warning.

11. Governing Law

These terms fall under the laws of the State of Illinois, including the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act (815 ILCS 505). Any legal dispute connected to your use of this site must be filed in courts located within Illinois, with venue in McHenry County or another proper Illinois venue, and the Twenty-Second Judicial Circuit Court is an acceptable trial-level venue when permitted by law.

12. Severability

If a court rules that any part of these terms is invalid or unenforceable, the rest stand. The problem section gets adjusted only as much as needed to make it work.
